Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Chocolate Dunk app for iPhone and iPad collects, why, who processes it, and the controls you have.
The short version
Chocolate Dunk has no account, no login, no chat and no user content. The game runs entirely on your device and plays offline. We, the developer, run no servers for the game and never see who you are.
Three things do involve other companies. Ads are shown by Google AdMob, and your device’s advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt. The Remove Ads purchase is handled by Apple. Game Center, if you choose to sign in, is run by Apple. None of the data described below is linked to your identity by us.
Who we are
The data controller is SUPER SIMPLE LEARNING LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom, trading as Super Simple Apps. You can reach us at support@supersimpleapps.io.
What the app collects
The table below describes data processed by the advertising SDK and Apple services. We do not run a player account database. Google may associate advertising data with device identifiers, and Apple handles purchases and Game Center through your Apple Account. “Tracking” means data that could be joined with data from other companies' apps and websites for advertising; that happens only if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
| Data | Used for | Who processes it | Tracking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device ID (advertising identifier, IDFA) | Third-party advertising, analytics | Google AdMob | Only with your consent |
| Advertising data (ads seen, interactions) | Third-party advertising, analytics | Google AdMob | Only with your consent |
| Product interaction (how the ads and app are used) | Third-party advertising, analytics | Google AdMob | No |
| Coarse location (derived from your IP address) | Serving ads relevant to your region | Google AdMob | No |
| Crash data | App functionality | Google AdMob; Apple if you opted in to sharing diagnostics | No |
| Performance data | App functionality, analytics | Google AdMob; Apple if you opted in to sharing diagnostics | No |
| Other diagnostic data | App functionality | Google AdMob; Apple if you opted in to sharing diagnostics | No |
| Purchase history (the Remove Ads transaction) | App functionality: confirming and restoring your purchase | Apple | No |
Your settings, coins, unlocked bars and best scores are stored on your device only. They are not sent to us.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Chocolate Dunk is free and shows advertisements served by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. A full-screen ad can appear between runs, but never during a live run.
The AdMob SDK may collect your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you grant permission in the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised using your advertising identifier. AdMob may also collect your approximate location based on your IP address, device information such as model, operating system version and language, and data about how you interact with ads. This information is used for ad delivery, frequency capping (limiting how often you see the same ad) and fraud prevention.
Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent to the use of your data for advertising through Google’s consent message before any ad is requested. You can change your choice at any time from Settings › Privacy › Privacy choices inside the app, and you can change your tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Chocolate Dunk is a general-audience app. The ad content rating is set to the most restrictive general-audience level, and the app is not configured for child-directed treatment.
For more information, see how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google AdMob’s privacy and security guidance.
In-app purchase
The app offers one in-app purchase, Remove Ads, which removes the full-screen ads shown after game over. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details, and we never see your name or Apple Account.
Purchases are confirmed and restored through Apple’s StoreKit on your device. We do not operate a separate purchase account or send your transactions to a purchase management provider.
A Remove Ads purchase can be restored on your other devices from Settings › Purchases › Restore Purchases, using the same Apple Account.
Game Center
The game offers optional Game Center leaderboards and achievements. If you choose to sign in, Apple handles the sign-in: the app only learns whether you are signed in, and it submits the scores and achievements you earn to Apple under your Game Center profile. Nothing about your Game Center account reaches us. Game Center is operated by Apple, and its use is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. You can play without ever signing in.
Crash and performance diagnostics
If the app crashes or runs slowly, Apple may collect crash logs and performance metrics and share them with us, but only if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. These reports describe the device and what the app was doing; they do not identify you. Google AdMob can also collect crash logs and device performance information for diagnostics, analytics and advertising. See Google’s SDK data disclosure. The app has no separate developer-operated analytics service.
What we do not collect
- No name, email address, phone number or postal address. There is no account to create.
- No precise location. The app never asks for location permission.
- No contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
- No messages, chat or user-generated content; there is nothing to post.
- No background location or activity tracking by the game.
Legal bases
Under the UK GDPR, and the EU GDPR where it applies, we rely on:
- Consent for personalised advertising and for any use of the advertising identifier, given through the App Tracking Transparency prompt and, where shown, Google’s consent message. You can withdraw it at any time as described above.
- Legitimate interests for showing non-personalised ads that fund a free game, for frequency capping and fraud prevention, and for reviewing crash and performance reports to keep the app working. Advertising identifiers and device information may still be personal data even though we do not know your name.
- Performance of a contract for delivering and restoring the Remove Ads purchase you have bought.
How long data is kept
We do not store personal data about players on our own systems. Google and Apple keep the data described above for the periods set out in their own policies; Google’s advertising data retention is described in its privacy policy, and Apple’s diagnostic reports are retained under Apple’s terms. Everything the app stores on your device stays there until you delete the app.
International transfers
Google and Apple are based in the United States and may process data there and in other countries. Where data leaves the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, these providers rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Google and Apple handle this data under their own published privacy policies and data processing terms, which commit them to protect it to at least the standard described in this policy and to use it only for the purposes above.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was done before. Because we do not store personal data about players on our own systems, the practical controls are the ones already described: the App Tracking Transparency setting, the in-app Privacy choices entry, and the privacy tools offered by Google and Apple. If you would like help exercising a right, email support@supersimpleapps.io and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Children
Chocolate Dunk is a general-audience game with a 4+ age rating on the App Store. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 or under the applicable age of digital consent in your country. Ad content is limited to general-audience ratings. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us and we will help remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the app collects, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the App Store. The current version is dated .
